Protect Yourself and Feel Empowered

Hey there, fearless fighters! Let’s face it, the world can be a scary place, but you don’t have to be scared. You can feel more confident and empowered by learning some basic self-defense skills. Whether you’re walking home from work late at night or just want to feel safer in your everyday life, these tips are for you. So, other than taking a self-defense class, here are the top 5 tips we’d give someone who’s brand-new to the world of self-defense training.

  1. Trust your instincts: If you feel like something isn’t right, it probably isn’t. Pay attention to your surroundings and be aware of any potential danger.
  2. Be confident: Attackers are more likely to target people who look vulnerable or unsure of themselves. Stand up straight, make eye contact, and project confidence in your body language.
  3. Practice situational awareness:Know what’s going on around you at all times. This means avoiding distractions like phones and headphones and paying attention to the people and surroundings around you.
  4. Learn basic strikes: Even if you’ve never taken a martial arts class, learning some basic strikes can help you defend yourself if you need to. Practice these moves with a friend or family member.
  5. Know how to escape from common holds:If someone grabs you from behind or puts you in a headlock, do you know how to get out of it? Learn some basic escapes for common holds.

Remember, the most important thing is to always be aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts. By taking some basic self-defense precautions, you can help keep yourself safe and feel more confident and empowered in your daily life.
